Recipes

I need new recipe ideas. I am burned out with the ones I have. If you have any good recipes let me know. Here is a good one that my neighbor gave me:
Pork Chalupas (Amber Nordick)

1 Pork tenderloin
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
1 can chopped green chilies
1 large jar salsa
1 jar green salsa
2 cups pinto beans
Flour tortillas
Cheese
Sour cream

Season and cook pork in crock-pot for 4 hours on high. Shred pork. Rinse crock-pot. Add all ingredients except tortillas, cheese and sour cream and warm for ½ hour. Serve with grated cheese and sour cream on tortillas. The Costco tortillas are the best.

Childhood Memories

I am sure that every one will think I am weird for this one, but that's okay. I was coming out of my photography class when I saw this newspaper dumpster. It brought back memories of being a kid. Kristin Wardle (now Sokol), me and her brother Randy would go over to the church parking lot and climb in the newspaper dumpster. We would hide out and play in there. I was always afraid that once I got in I wouldn't get out.

Pumpkins

Maddie and Moms Pumpkin - Maddie wanted to do a witch because that is what she wants to be for Halloween.


We took the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out their own pumpkins. Tucker liked going through the corn maze. Maddie was afraid that we would never get out (she sounds like her Mom). But their favorite part was driving all the tractors they had out for the kids to sit on.

New Hair Cut

Maddie went to see Melanie (Aunt Hollis's friend) at Cookie Cutters. She sat in a car and watched Princess Dora while Melanie cut her hair. Tucker was jealous so we had to take his picture also.

The Deer Hunt

Maddie thought her Dad was going Deer hunting to bring her home a new pet. Little did she know what he was REALLY doing. She could hardly wait until he was home. She wanted to show London and Makenna (her best friends) her deer and let them pet it. Thank goodness he didn't get one! Its a tradtion with the Staley family for the guys to go hunting together. They go to Coalville and stay with Aunt Margaret.

Gardner Village

While the guys went hunting the girls hung out. Maddie, Tucker and I spent the weekend at Grandma Kathies house. Aunt Holli was in town from Cedar city. We went shopping, out to dinner and watched movies with Holli. Saturday we hung out with BJ's family (Grandma Marilyn, Michelle, Kelby, Anna, Megan, and Morgan). We went to see the witches at Gardner Village. Tucker liked the ducks the best.

The White Tigers won their last game! Good job you guys! Maddie is so happy that soccer is finally over. Although she is pretty proud of the trophy she got. She is my dancing girl. She likes dance over soccer. She was happy that Aunt Holli came to watch her play at her last game. Sorry Holli that you got stung by a bee watching Maddie play.

Remembering Hannah

My cousin Annie's little Princess passed away Tuesday October 7th. Everyone remember her and her family in your prayers. Isn't she so cute?

Hannah Avery Hafen 2007 ~ 2008 Hannah Avery Hafen our beautiful little princess passed from her parents loving arms into those of her Heavenly Fathers on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 due to a neuro-muscular condition SMA.Hannah was born on May 21, 2007. Her life enriched all who knew her. Sunshine danced in her beautiful red hair. Through her blue eyes we could see and feel the Light of Christ. Her smile melted the hearts of all who saw it. Once upon a time there lived a princess named Hannah. She was the fairest in all of the Land. After battling many terrible dragons, she has now been crowned with Eternal Life. We are truly blessed to have had her in our lives. Hannah is survived by her parents Bret and Annie Hafen. She has the best big brother Blake, grandparents Jed and Jan Taylor, Bill and Deana (Hafen) Agnello, the late Eugene Hafen, aunts, uncles, great-grandparents, cousins, family and friends too numerous to name. Special thanks to her devoted caring mom, dad, brother Blake and Aunt Lizzy. Thanks also to Dr. Kathy Swoboda, Abby Smart, other doctors, nurses and medical staff who lengthened her stay with us. Funeral services will be held Mon., Oct. 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Sunset LDS Ward Chapel, 270 W. Burton Lane, Kaysville, UT. Friends and family may call Sun. from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Mon. from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
