Homemade Christmas

BJ was suppose to have these done along time ago so I could try to sell some before Christmas. But he got busy. They turned out better than I expected and the kids loved them.

I use to play with one of these at my friend Tamaras house. So I had BJ make one for the kids. It has been a big hit with everyone.

Marble maze. I went to order one from Amazon for Tuck but I didn't like any of the pictures. So we decided to make our own. My Sister-In-Law suggested making one with a family picture.
Hair clip holder.
Clip boards for the kids to color with in the car and at church. BJ still needs to drill the holes deeper. The crayons aren't suppose to stick out that far.

Guess we should have made one for Grandpa
He picks it and . . .
He eats it!
How do you get him to stop?
Grandma Marilyn gave Maddie this cute doll.

Tucks prize and joy. No one is allowed to touch his Lightning McQueen or his trucks. He could have cared less about anything else after he opened these.

Christmas Day Breakfast

We always go to my Moms for breakfast on Christmas Day after the kids are done opening their presents. We are always the last ones there. My kids love to sleep in. They could sleep until ten if you let them. They have always been that way. Anyway . . . back to breakfast. My Sister-In-Law Heidi made the best french toast ever! So I thought I would share it with everyone.

Creme Brulee French Toast
1/2 C butter
1 C brown sugar
2 T corn syrup
5 eggs
1/2 tsp cinnamon
11/2 C half and half
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Melt first
three ingredients (butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup) and pour them into a pan or a cookie sheet. A metal pan will produce a crisper and toastier french toast(this is the way I like it). A glass one will be soggish. Combine remaining remaining ingredients in a bowl. This is your dip. You can use french bread or Texas toast. Dip the bread, then place it on top of the syrup stuff in the bottom of pan. You can do this part the night before then leave it over night and cook in the morning, or let it sit for a couple of hours in the fridge before you cook it, or just go ahead and cook it right away (We did ours the night before - well my sister-in-law did :)). Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes, 16-18 minutes per side (flip them over halfway through cooking time.)

The French toast was not on my diet but it was VERY worth it! They are so yummy! Let me know if you get a chance to try them.

Ballerina

Happy Birthday

My baby turned six this month! This is Maddie in her dance costume. I will post pictures of that later. She was spoiled by her family for her birthday. My parents took her to eat at her favorite place - "the phone place" (The Training Table). BJ and I took her to see The Princess and The Frog. I can't believe that she is six already. Maddie also has her first loose tooth. She wants the tooth Fairy to come but she doesn't want her tooth to come out. I am not sure how that is going to work :)
