We always go to my Moms for breakfast on Christmas Day after the kids are done opening their presents. We are always the last ones there. My kids love to sleep in. They could sleep until ten if you let them. They have always been that way. Anyway . . . back to breakfast. My Sister-In-Law Heidi made the best french toast ever! So I thought I would share it with everyone.
Creme Brulee French Toast
1/2 C butter
1 C brown sugar
2 T corn syrup
5 eggs
1/2 tsp cinnamon
11/2 C half and half
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Melt first three ingredients (butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup) and pour them into a pan or a cookie sheet. A metal pan will produce a crisper and toastier french toast(this is the way I like it). A glass one will be soggish. Combine remaining remaining ingredients in a bowl. This is your dip. You can use french bread or Texas toast. Dip the bread, then place it on top of the syrup stuff in the bottom of pan. You can do this part the night before then leave it over night and cook in the morning, or let it sit for a couple of hours in the fridge before you cook it, or just go ahead and cook it right away (We did ours the night before - well my sister-in-law did :)). Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes, 16-18 minutes per side (flip them over halfway through cooking time.)
The French toast was not on my diet but it was VERY worth it! They are so yummy! Let me know if you get a chance to try them.

If you are on a diet I am going to kill myself.
Ya...diet? What does that mean Trish? Ugh. Those sound delicious! They are not in my diet either, but I will eat them all day!
